In response to a question from a Bloomberg reporter that the Financial Times reported earlier today the US has frozen new export control measures on Chinese entities as a goodwill gesture ahead of trade talks, and that China has agreed to do the same, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Guo Jiakun said on Monday that China-US economic and trade cooperation is, by nature, mutually beneficial.
Guo said that we hope the US will work with China to act on the important common understandings reached by the two presidents in their phone conversation, have more consensus and cooperation and less misperception through communication and dialogue on the basis of equality, respect and mutual benefit, and promote the steady, sound and sustainable development of China-US relations.
